My body is a room filled with antiques…is a twenty minute uninterrupted walk, an impromptu movement dialogue between past and present canonizations, techniques and norms that Penkova observes has transformed her body into a an antiquarian. The goal is to refurnish, update and recycle. With chalk mapping out on the floor links, bridges, entrances and exits that can allow other values, expressions to enter. We need the past to reflect on what has come before us and to thereby understand where we are going.  My body is a room filled with antiques… is the first part of the 18 steps throuhg (dance) history trilogy.
