Callandia (creation 2028) has a futuristic tone:

Do you want to Dance or Die?

Imagine,

We live in a society that has no art

Definitely no more dance

And no artists left

Its 3017 and all artists have been re-educated

into bureaucrats, office workers, programmers, and other institutional bodies 

over a century they have been rewired to believe that art is worthless

Not worth a single memory”.

The first part of the research process is carried out through short residencies with one-two performers at a time. Through interviews, movement-based explorations, and the collection of artistic material in the form of sound, video, and text, the focus lies on developing methods of creation in which documentation does not merely function as a trace of the process, but as a performative expression in itself.

The project Callandia is the third and final part of the TRILOGY : 18 Steps Through (Stories of) Dance.
